The K-Metal from Krypton

K-Metal from Krypton - Page 12: Lucky Day [Boring & Komisarow]
1940 artwork  -  completed page
Story by Jerry Siegel, 1940.  Page-by-page art credits.

Here is the closest we came to completing the combined page.  Shane has inked Angel's first two panels; and I have replaced the lettering (both in the dialogue and on the side of the truck) in the third panel in order to correct for the flip.  When re-lettering Superman's dialogue here, I retained the text as it read in the original art.  For the side of the truck, however, I replaced the leading flipped "TRA" with a concluding "OES", since I like Trader Joe's.  I also enlarged and re-lettered the tramp's dialogue balloon in the fourth panel.  Additionally, the strip of artwork across the middle of the second tier has been drawn by Angel, designed to fit-in and match the original artwork.  I went back to using the original version of the tramp's face in panel 4, since he now has that face in the first two panels.  Shane has also inked Angel's tramp in panel 6. Angel redrew Superman's chest emblem in order to match the one we had already been using in the story.  I ultimately decided to abandon the idea of combining pages, and to instead stick solely with the original Shuster Studio page.  However, I did keep Angel's restoration of the missing strip of artwork in the second tier and his revised S logo in the final completed page.
