A mysterious super-hero, his true identity unknown, who appears in
Metropolis in August 1963 - clad in a light purple costume with a
black belt; yellow trunks, boots, and cape, and with a yellow letter
"W" emblazoned on his chest - and performs a series of stunning
super-feats that soon have him eclipsing Superman
as the great hero of Metropolis.
Wonder-Man, who is invulnerable to kryptonite, is endowed with all the same
super-powers as Superman. He is in reality Ajax, who was until recently the
strongest of Superman's own Superman robots. His super-sophisticated
robot mind has been transferred out of its robot body - and into
an utterly lifelike chemically-made android body - by members of
the Superman Revenge Squad as part of an elaborate plot to destroy
Superman.
